Marula House… on the beach consists of the main house, that is set back from the beach with exquisite views, and a beach bungalow that is only a few footsteps from the warm Indian Ocean water. The main house and beach bungalow are available separately or together for larger groups.The main house sleeps 6 people in 3 rooms incl. en-suite bathrooms, with the possibility of adding an additional 3 beds for up to 6 children, and a powder room. The 2 front bedrooms have private terraces, offering beautiful views of the pool, the park- like garden and the beach. The beach bungalow sleeps 4 people in 2 double rooms incl. en-suite bathrooms with the possibility of sleeping one child on a sofa bed. It has its own splash pool and especially large windows provide views of one of the most picturesque beaches in the world - right from your beds. Spectacular.
Our Location...
Marula House… on the beach is located on the beautiful Kenyan coast near Mombasa, south of Diani on the quieter Galu Beach. The beach is white, vast and quiet compared to Diani Beach. You can take long walks north or south, especially at low tide. The garden is landscaped, and the beautiful mix of indigenous palm trees and other regional flora make the immediate and greater surroundings quiet, private and pristine.
The drive from Ukunda airstrip is only 15 minutes, and Diani center with all of its shops, restaurants and bars about 12 minutes. There are more and more daily, scheduled flights from Nairobi and Mombasa to Ukunda / Diani Beach. Mombasa airport is about a 1 ½ hour drive depending on arrival time, including ferry. Mombasa Island and downtown are only 30 Km away, and this usually takes about 1 ½ hours, depending on ferry services (note: the new road connecting Mombasa Moi Intl. Airport to the South Coast will be completed 4Q2018. This will cut driving time to Mombasa to 50 minutes). Diani Beach is 45 minutes away from the beautiful Shimba Hills due West with its National Park, and lodges. Shimoni and the Marine National Park are only about a one hour drive South towards the boarder with Tanzania.
